FT Autocentre promises to offer an affordable MOT to check your vehicle and get it to the standard you need to get you back on the road.
The MOT test is an annual test of vehicle safety, roadworthiness aspects and exhaust emissions required in the United Kingdom for vehicles over three years old.
We want you to have the best experience and that means offering the best quality of technicians to do the job. One thing we don’t believe in is cutting costs. You will only have parts repaired if they are needed to pass the test – but we will offer advice on anything else that may cause a problem between now and your next service.
When a vehicle fails the MOT test it can be re-tested within the end of 10 working days to gain a pass. There may be a charge payable. If the vehicle remains at the test station for repair after failure then it can have a free partial re-test within 10 working days after the original test has been carried out. If it is removed from the premises for repair and then returned before the end of 10 working days it can have a retest at a small charge.
After the 10-day period a full MOT test will have to be carried out. The full MOT test fee is charged again. Test stations and the DVSA’s website provide full and up-to-date information regarding MOT re-tests.
After the successful re-test, you can be sure that your vehicle is safe and you will be issued with a MOT test certificate.

A valid MOT is a legal requirement for cars used on UK roads once the vehicle is three years old. The MOT has to be renewed every twelve months at the latest, although you can have an MOT up to one month before your current one expires in which case your new MOT will commence from the expiry date of the old one and be valid for twelve months from that date.
